Le Truffier – a pigeon tower with an oasis of calm

The historic pigeon tower “Le Truffier” stands on the edge of a truffle plantation – an exceptional retreat for two people looking for something special. An living experience steeped in history unfolds over three floors of 12 m² each, compact and full of character. It is equipped with a kitchen, shower room and a cozy double bed. Sustainable and close to nature, hot water is generated by solar panels and the power supply runs on 12 volts, with the fridge and stove powered by gas.

Surrounded by the gentle landscapes of the Dordogne Valley, the tower stands on the extensive grounds of the former Château Plagne vineyard. The property has been lovingly restored and is located in the small hamlet of Plagne with only 15 houses – a place where time flows more gently. The small town of Bétaille, with a butcher, baker, post office and a small supermarket, is only a few minutes away.

Guests at “Le Truffier” can cater for themselves – or let us spoil them with a sumptuous breakfast buffet or a fine evening meal by arrangement. Achim Schriever creates regional cuisine based on the best ingredients – many fresh from our garden, others from local farms.

Our pool is the perfect place to relax after a day out and enjoy the warm summer days.
